Major charting components for Windows are ChartFX and Dundas. Both
integrate well with VS.NET and provide easy to use wizards with well
architectured .NET apis.
Dundas charting is significantly more affordable
than ChartFX, especially for volume licensing, I have contacted both
companies with various charting issues and received prompt and accurate
support. This is how a typical chart from Dundas looks like:
But don't our customers deserve something better? How about some cool 3 D

Mathematica and Maple are excellent charting software packages that are used
primary by scientists.
Commercial licenses are a bit pricey ($2000) and lack modern api
interfaces.
