Windows forms is a .NET class library that supports rapid development of graphical user interfaces (GUI) in C#, VB.NET, and other .languages. For rapid Windows Forms development with C# and VB.NET, Visual Studio .NET has a form designer that combines the ease of use of Visual Basic designer with the power of Visual C++. Intended for software engineers, technical leads, and software and marketing managers, this course provides an introduction to Windows forms and how to use different technologies to make robust user interfaces. Various techniques to quickly build, deploy, and support quality .NET GUI applications are illustrated. Topics include .NET overview, resources, working with events, managed and unmanaged controls, creating a responsive user interface with asynchronous and multithreaded programming, authoring custom controls, creating graphics with GDI+, configuring and deploying WinForms applications, DataBinding, and printing. By the end of the course, students should be able to develop, deploy, and configure Windows forms applications of moderate complexity and use and build controls.
