Series of interviews with my favorite .NET authors.

I started asking my favorite .NET authors for an interview. I am working on questions for Chris Sells and Andrew Troelsen. Please let me know if you have a question for them.

Edit and continue is not an essential feature for C# 2.0

I have read on 2.0 newsgroups that edit and continue is part of VB.NET 2005 but not VC# 2005.
I would sacrificy pretty much any other new 2.0 feature to have Edit and continue. How about you?

Benchmarks: Who is faster Microsoft, Oracle or Sun ?

I started programming in .NET back in 2000 and took as a given that .NET is somewhat faster than Java because it is better optimised for Windows than Java. To my greatest surprise, Sun and Oracle came up with their own benchmarks that show pretty much the opposite to what Microsoft found.
Who do you think is right?

Why isn't SQL Server free?

My ASP.NET students are working on a course project that requires a database. I have asked them what database they will use and have got an almost unanimous answer: "MySQL because it is free".
I think SQL Server would be much more popular if it were given free to developers to play with.

New lesson for C# tutorial is almost done.

One of my ASP.NET students told me about the trouble she had to go through to install a Windows Service written in C#. I thought this would make a good addition to my C# Tutorial -coming soon.
